Instructor Wesley Brown walks them through the different areas and projects they will be working on during their twelve weeks in the program.

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css_animation=”fadeIn”]December 2, 2017, The Creative Arts Lounge and Media (C.A.L.M.) Center hosted an event where they acknowledged the women entrepreneurs selected for The C.A.L.M. Center’s 2018 Savvy and Sophisticated Calendar.
Journey Hair Salon at 7041 Castor Ave hosted a networking event with other Philadelphia’s Entrepreneurs.
They were all invited to meet these women as well as network with other entrepreneurs.
The C.A.L.M. Center spotlighted present businesses and arranged a speed networking hour where random owners were rotated and connected to other random owners.
C.A.L.M. successfully raised $1500 for the non-profit, which allowed them to put a downpayment on a rental for future programs and workshops.

The CALM Center’s Media Arts Youth Program
Many schools in the Philadelphia region are losing their arts programs; causing the disabling of the ability to think creatively. The Creative Arts Lounge and Media Center youth program will enroll and teach young teenagers soft skills saving them from a society that is out to captured their minds and send them down a path of destruction. The C.A.L.M. Center encourages and challenges their artistic ability, while giving the youth a platform to display their abilities to the public in a professional and artistic manner. The youth will be allowed to express themselves in photography, painting, and video production. With the closing of schools and artistic programs, the youth are losing creative critical thinking and problem solving skills that comes with putting together an idea and acting on it. We at C.A.L.M. are focus on providing that outlet. (more…)
